All CollectionsFUNNELSHow to make a great opt-in page

Undoubtedly the most important aspect for the success of your online business is an effective and high converting opt-in page.

Paul repeatedly emphasizes the importance of an excellent opt-in page throughout the online training process and in particular in the "Opt-in Page Creation" module within the program.

An opt-in page (also known as a landing page or squeeze page) has the sole purpose of adding the visitor to your email subscription list. In exchange for receiving your free gift, report, advice or tips, the visitor gives you their contact details, usually their name and email address - depending on the business.

Below we have included some key elements of an effective opt-in page:

  • Who is your client?

Before creating your opt-in page, you have to be sure you correctly understand the kind of person you want to sign in.

Without a clear understanding of who you want, you cannot tailor an accurate and relevant message.

  • An opt-in page needs a topic.

You want to find something that your target audience is hungry to learn more about.

That way, they're likely to sign in for more information.

  • It must contain both a clear headline and a sub headline

You’ve got to instantly catch attention with your headline and offer a solution to the problem.

  • All the important information (headline, bullet points, image, CTA) have to be above the fold, so they don't have to scroll down the page.

  • Place a CTA (Call To Action) button.

Texts like ‘Take the challenge’ or even ‘Get started’ prove better than ‘Download’ or ‘Sign up’.

  • Consider adding a video.

A video adds an extra dimension, allows you to get your message across quicker and creates a strong personal connection with the viewer.

We suggest adding a 60 second introductory video to your page to introduce yourself to your audience, letting them know why they should subscribe.

  • Include customer testimonials.

A couple of solid testimonials on your registration page earns trust from others. It's great to add them to the bottom of your opt-in form.

  • Test your opt-in page!
