Whilst a Gmail account is not mandatory when using Blogger, it is strongly advised.
When setting up Blogger, we recommend creating and using a Gmail account as Google own Blogger. Furthermore, using a Gmail account also facilitates integrating Youtube more efficiently with Blogger, as again, Youtube is owned by Google.
When on Google, type ‘Gmail account’. You will be directed to the main page.
From there, click on ‘Create an account’.
Fill in the information required - adding your mobile phone number is optional. The username you select will be the same as your new email address.
Click on ’Next step’. You then have the option to add a photo.
Once your new Gmail email address is set up, you are all ready to set up with Blogger!
