The dashboard is your blog’s back-office, where you create your posts, amend your settings and edit the layout of your blog.

Starting at the top tab and then working our way down through them all, here is a short overview of what’s offered there:

Posts

Create, schedule and update your posts here

Stats

Offers different sub-tabs.

  • Overview: offers a quick glance about your blog and its stats: the number of views you have had, the number of posts you have posted etc.
  • Posts: here you’ll find the number of views for your different posts and pages
  • Traffic sources: which URL your visitors come from
  • Audience: where your audience come from (countries, browsers, operating systems)

Comments

Access, read and review comments that visitors have made on your posts

Earnings

Here you can see the earnings that you have made from adverts clicked on your blog site. You can also link to Google Adsense here.

It usually takes up to six months once your blog is up and running to be eligible for Google AdSense.

Pages

In a similar way to any website that you may visit, here you can add additional pages to your blog. This is particularly useful when uploading your privacy notice to your blog.

Layout

'Layout' will allow you to amend the look of your blog. You can adjust the overall layout of your blog, amend the structure and placement of posts, key gadgets, images, buttons etc.

Theme

Here you can amend your colour scheme, designs, textures etc as well as view your blog on both mobile and desktop devices.

Settings

A very useful section! Here you will be able to modify your blog’s title and address, post settings, comments (who can comment, choose moderation) etc.

Reading List

Here you can add blogs to follow in your Reading List - we don’t recommend you spend time on this, however.

Help

Here you’ll get access to the Blogger (Google) Help section, which should answer most of your Blogger queries.
